„Mank”, filmul regizat deDavid Fincher, cu Gary Oldman în rol principal,se numără printre peliculele nominalizate la premiul Oscar pentru cel mai bun film, la cea de-a 93-a gală a Academiei americane.

Filmul care spune povestea scenaristului Mankiewicz,a primit 10 selecţii, inclusiv pentru „cel mai bun film” şi „cel mai bun regizor”.

Cu toate acestea, filmul alb-negrua ratat o nominalizare cheie în categoria „cel mai bun scenariu original”, ceea ce scade șansele deMank de a câștiga „cea mai bună imagine”.

Manka fost, de asemenea, cel mai nominalizat film care a intrat în Globurile de Aur luna trecută, dara plecat fără niciun premiu.

Mank prezintă Hollywoodul anilor ’30, reevaluat prin ochii causticului critic social și scenarist alcoolic Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman), care se străduie să finalizeze scenariul filmului Cetățeanul Kane pentru Orson Welles (Tom Burke).
